| The James Robertson Story |
| Doyle Peeks, Editor: This all started when I received the following via e-mail. |
Greetings from the cold Canadian North
My son, James, who is a grade 6 student is currently in the process of building tower cranes out of straw and hot glue. His plan is to figure out how to build a stronger crane. His first crane managed to hold over 3 kilograms worth of weight!
Straws and hot glue are stronger than you may think. He is in the process of building his 2nd crane. We were wondering if you could recommend where on your web site he could go to
check out tower cranes and can we access the site for the next week or so without subscribing? Please advise. We would like to send you a picture of the crane if that is okay.
Thanks from a stressed out mom helping her far to knowledgeable son do science fair stuff!

To find towercranes use the search feature. It is a yellow button on the left navigation bar. Also, check out the Towercrane Forum on the CraneTalk.com Bulletin Board.
Have fun James.

Dear Mr. Peeks:
I just wanted to say thank you for letting me have a subscription to your web site. It has been a great help. It played an important part in my project on tower cranes. I first won in my grade six classroom. I then won at my school
against all the other grades 4-6. This past weekend I went to the Sunset Country Regional Science Fair and I won first place in the junior division of applied science. Here is a picture of the first tower crane I built. It held 3061 grams of weight. The second tower crane I built, which was much
stronger, held 6648.1 grams of weight. Thank you for letting me use your web site.
Sincerely

Hello James.
Congratulations on your accomplishments. I am glad I could help. Hopefully, you'll grant me permission to put your story, awards and picture of your crane on the cranetalk.com bulletin board. I'll also put your personal picture with it if you have one you can scan or send by mail. Maybe one was taken at the science fair.
James, I'm excited for you young fellow. I see a great future for you. Just keep on keeping on.

Dear Mr. Peeks:
There are 2 pictures of my project. One is the board and the other the cranes. Unfortunately I did not have my award as it is on display at the school. Yes you can put the pictures and information on your web site. Thank you so very much for letting me use your web site.

Folks this offsets a whole bunch of negatives I see everyday.
Thumbs Up to you, James
